What the Experts Say II

In my blog, I talk about the fact that it is very important to limit yourself in the consumption of media content since in most cases this activity leads to negative consequences.

Anne S. Walters found several solutions to this problem in her article titled “Solution to social media overuse? Put the phones away”. In her article, she says that “children spending more time on their screens are less happy and those spending less time on their screens are happier” (Walters, 2017, p. 8). The reasons for this, as you already know, can be huge.

These are such as sleep problems, mental problems due to false images of bloggers, and cyberbullying. The latter can be very dangerous for young children and children with fragile psyches. However, what can we do to prevent such consequences?

The article points out that the best way for children to prevent overuse of social media is to get parents away from them. Then you can set an example for the child, and he will do the same because, for many children, parents are the authority.
